Annotation: In his essay Dr. Vyacheslav Urlyapov evaluates the dynamics of Malaysia-China relations during the tenure of three prime-ministers, i.e. Mahathir Mohamad, Abdulla Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak (1981-2010). The evolution of Malaysia's China policy illustrated how a previously mutually suspicious relationship has been transformed into a partnership over a rather short historic period.
