Annotation: Zoan Mai Linh analyzes problems connected with the formation of the free trade zones in South-East Asia, paying attention to the motives for negotiations and conclusion of the treaties on the free trade zones. She is of the opinion that the reason for it is not only economic, but very often there is a political impulse. This observation is especially true with China because its policy clearly demonstrates direct political interest.
