Annotation: Regional and international cooperation for development of the Greater Mekong region in 2009 - 2011. Greater Mekong region is one of the most biologically diverse regions on the planet. Rich human and natural resources, create conditions for investment and rapid economic growth. The author discusses regional and international cooperation on infrastructure development, the use of the natural resource in the region in 2009 – 2011, stressing great influence on this process by ASEAN and East Asia Summit. Growing rivalry between Japan and China for influence in the region is also stated.
