Constitutional Referendum and the Prospects for Political Development of Thailand

Annotation: The author analyses the results of the referendum on the new constitution held on 7 August in Thailand. She evaluates the political situation, the position of political parties and comes to the conclusion that the role of the top brass is growing with political parties losing their say in politics. Generally speaking the parliamentary system in Thailand is still immature and needs improvement.
