Annotation: The article highlights the course of the electoral campaign of the 2016 presidential election in the Philippines, programs and statements of the five candidates for presidency, peculiarities of relations between the candidates and political parties as well as the patron-client relations between the leaders and masses. The article analyses the results of the voting on 9 May 2016.
