China Soft Power in South East Asia

Annotation: The article appreciates soft diplomacy of People's Republic of China in the view of its possible economic, political and socio-cultural implication for Southeast Asian countries that derive as benefit from expanding good-neighborly relations with China as well as face considerable risks. Cultural expansion of China often forms its negative image in public awareness. Therefore the attempts that China undertakes to straighten its influence on Southeast Asian countries by means of soft power prioritizing its economic resources do not always produce positive results in the face of growing risks for the countries of the region.
