Аннотация: Сутан Такдир Алишахбана (1908-1994) – один из наиболее выдающихся культурных деятелей Индонезии ХХ века. Он начал свой творческий путь как поэт и новеллист, и впоследствии стал одной из ключевых фигур интеллектуальной и культурной жизни Индонезии. Ему принадлежат работы в области философии, лингвистики, литературы, множество исследований в сфере культуры и образования, в которых он выражал свой взгляд на национальную историю Индонезии, её дальнейшую судьбу. Он также был литературным критиком и издателем, активно отстаивавшим ценности модернизации и современного западного мира. Статья представляет собой краткое исследование особенностей мировоззрения, взглядов и идей С.Т. Алишахбаны.

 
Annotation: Anna Fursova’s paper devoted to the life and activity of Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana (1908-1994) who was one of the key figures in the intellectual and cultural life of Indonesia. S.T. Alisjahbana expressed his personal opinion about the national history of Indonesia and its future. His views and ideas were different from most of the other intellectuals in the country, because he stood for the western values and concepts that must be learned and adopted by Indonesian people in order to make the country prosperous and modern. He was also very fond of the idea of necessity to build one universal world culture. S.T. Alisjahbana made a considerable contribution to the development of bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language). This paper presents a study of his ideas and concept in connection with the key events in his life and the life of Indonesia. It also gives a brief description of some of his works which are the most significant in order to understand his views and ideas.
