Аннотация: Dr. Elena Fomicheva in her paper makes an attempt to analyze the cause and the acting forces of the political crises in Thailand in 2005 - 2006. The author assesses these political events as a crisis of the whole political system of the country, stressing that the cause of it is the disturbing of the balance of political elites with the new political elite attempting to assume all political and economic power in the country. It is also stated that the underlying cause of current political turmoil is deep economic and political disparity between the poor and the rich, between the capital and the countryside.
