Annotation: The article is devoted to the presidential elections in Singapore in 2017. The author analyzes the innovations in procedure to elect the president of the country, sets out a brief chronology of the presidential campaign and its results, and introduces the brief biography of the new president of the Republic of Singapore, Halima Yakob.
