Annotation: In the article the author considers the possibility and the main directions of cooperation of the Russian Federation with the countries of South-East Asia in the energy sector. The most detailed analysis is given of the resource base and the current state of oil and gas industry of Southeast Asian countries, as well as oil and gas chemistry and oil refining.
Special attention is paid to development of fuel and energy complex (FEC) of Indonesia and Malaysia, the largest producers of oil and gas in Southeast Asia at the moment. At the same time, the author notes the tendency of gradual transformation of major countries-exporters of oil and gas in South-East Asia to importers. The development of this trend actualizes the Russian oil and gas exports to the Asia-Pacific region with appropriate development of transport communications and logistics.
