Annotation: The article is considered the question of formation of «the Chinese sea power». The author examines the issues of cultural interaction between the Han ethnic group and the autochthonous population of South-East China, the cultural and trade contacts of the Fujian people in Southeast Asia. The paper is given a detailed description of the unique sub-ethnic group the Fujian people, their ethnic and cultural characteristics.
