Free Economic Zones in Vietnam’s Practice

Annotation: The article analyzes the legislative regulation of the formation of free economic zones in Vietnam with an emphasis on the stimulus package. The practice of functioning of different types of zones is considered, such as key economic zones, industrial parks, border economic zones and technoparks, and their results. The SEZ accounts for a significant share of the main macroeconomic indicators of the Vietnamese economy. Their advantages are associated with a favorable geographical location, cheap labor, adequate infrastructure, active participation of the private sector, a high role of the state in the legislative regulation and financing of infrastructure, guaranteeing a substantial package of benefits to resident companies, and simplified administrative formalities.
