Annotation: The Asia-Pacific region has been an arena of а tough competition struggle between China on the one hand and India and Japan – on the other. The subject of competition is powerful economic grouping of ASEAN. India and Japan have a long history of geopolitical interaction, especially in the period before and during the Second World war. Hence, there is a fairly broad cooperation, largely focused on counteracting China's attempts to turn the traditional Confucian, Chinese statehood into a modern role model in the Southeast Asian countries. The practical implementation of the anti-China strategy creates an opportunity for India, Japan and Vietnam to try to form an alternative formula for regional integration in East and South Asia. The essence of this complex formula boils down to the consistent desire of traditional opponents of China to develop a common strategy not only in the East Asian region, but also on the Eurasian continent.
