Cross Border Infrastructure as a Direction of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in South-East Asia: Opportunities and Constraints

Annotation: The article reveals the potential of cooperation between the people's Republic of China and the Russian Federation in the construction of cross-border infrastructure in South-East Asia, taking into account the long-term plans of ASEAN, the peculiarities of China and Russia' independent from each other activities in South-East Asia. The author finally turns to the assessment of Beijing’s and Moscow’s possibilities to coordinate these actions and their long-term plans. The main conclusion of the author is that Southeast Asia is a convenient platform for the practical implementation of the interface of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union as part of the Greater Eurasian Partnership.
