Annotation: The article discusses the prospects for the development of the concept of a Large Eurasian partnership (hereinafter LEAP), put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the St. Petersburg economic forum in June 2016. Presenting its integration project, Russia declared its readiness to promote it, focusing primarily on cooperation with ASEAN countries, in which Vietnam is the main partner for both Russia and its ally China. Russia is embarking on new integration initiatives in the South-East Asian region, in the implementation of which Vietnam could potentially become the leader of regional political processes.

Keywords: LEAP, Large Eurasian partnership, Russia, Vietnam, China, FTZ, cooperation, “one belt one way”
