Annotation: The article analyzes the evolution of the industrial policy of Malaysia from industrialization through import substitution to export-oriented development policy. For six decades, the country's industrial specialization has changed from manufacturing labor-intensive products to capital-intensive products and then to high-tech products. The main source of growth of the Malaysian economy has become electronics, which occupies an important place in the national GDP, exports and employment structure. At the end of 2018, the government announced a policy of the fourth industrial revolution, setting the ambitious task of turning Malaysia into an economically developed state to 2025.
