Between support and neutrality: the role of China's regional partners in the conflict over the space and resources of the South China sea

Annotation: The South China sea remains one of the" hot spots " of the Asia-Pacific region. The paper considers the positions of the ASEAN countries that do not have legal claims to the South China SEA – Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. China, as one of the key parties to the conflict, is trying to enlist the support of these countries.
