Vietnam is ASEAN Chair 2020: New Opportunities for Russia

Annotation: Today Vietnam is one of the ASEAN leaders and one of the fastest growing regional economies. Vietnam as current ASEAN chair is able to take an active part in the existing initiatives development of the Association and the creation of new ones. The chairmanship of Vietnam, a strategic partner of Russia, opens up wide opportunities for the latter to participate in regional initiatives and resolve the conflicts of the great powers in the region as a third, independent party. Good prospects are also opening up for closer economic interaction and the creation of joint integration initiatives, such as Greater Eurasian Partnership.
