Annotation: The article is a critical review of Marie-Madeleine Kenning’s book “Then the Khmer Rouge Came – Survivors’ Stories from Northwest Cambodia a memoir” published in the UK in 2020. The author of the review identifies the most interesting aspects of the book’s content, such as descriptions of the activity of Sisters of Divine Providence, the everyday lives of local Catholics and their interactions with the Buddhist community.
