Annotation: The article provides an overview of the reports of the Scientific Inter-Institute Conference “The Countries of Southeast Asia and the South Pacific Region between Beijing and Washington”, which took place on May 17, 2021 in the online format. Scientists, as well as postgraduates students from various academic, research and educational institutions took part in the conference, organized by the Center for Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania Studies of the IOS RAS. The topics of the reports covered a wide range of issues, starting from the global and regional levels and ending with the problems of some Southeast Asia and the South Pacific region countries interaction with China and the United States.
