Annotation: The article provides an overview of the 43th scientific inter-institutional conference with the participation of foreign speakers, dedicated to the study of the South Pacific Region in the past and the present, its history, politics, economy and culture, which was held in an online format at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences on November 9, 2022. The conference was organized by the Center for Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania Studies, Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences.
