The electoral strategy of the Cambodian People’s Party: the influence of external and internal factors

Annotation: This article examines the internal political situation in Cambodia shortly before parliamentary elections, due to take place on 23rd July 2023. The author shows the configuration of political forces: weakness and disunity of opposition parties, as well as the lack of clarity regarding the ruling CPP’s prime ministerial candidate. The author also analyses the impact of external factors on potential election legitimation by Western political community.
