Annotation: New Zealand is traditionally a part of the Western Anglo-Saxon world with its special values, but the country's rapid economic growth is inextricably linked with the expansion of trade and economic cooperation with China. In view of the growing rivalry between China and the United States in Southeast Asia, the New Zealand government is trying to balance between two key partners: political - the United States and economic - China. The article was written within the framework of the theory of an average power, although the NZ is not such, however, the country receives a balancing space for the sake of national interests. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of relations between the PRC and New Zealand, as well as the degree of US influence on the development of Sino-New Zealand cooperation.
