A Century of Protestantism in Vietnam

Annotation: In 1911 the first Protestant church was built with a local focus, and most of the missionaries were Americans. After the unification of the country, the attitude of the country's leadership toward Protestantism, which was associated with the United States, was quite negative, yet Protestantism was not banned. At present, Protestants constitute about 1% of the population, the growth has occurred mainly at the expense of ethnic minorities who live in rural areas. The spread of Protestantism among the titular ethnic group is difficult due to the continued popularity of the folk religion.
