Moving the Indonesia Capital
ЮГО-ВОСТОЧНАЯ АЗИЯ: АКТУАЛЬНЫЕ ПРОБЛЕМЫ РАЗВИТИЯ, 2023, №3(59), 112-130
Annotation: At the end of August 2019, the Indonesian government officially announced plans to move its capital. The government plans to turn the new capital into a low-carbon superhub that will support the health and technology sectors. Digital images provided by the government show the city surrounded by forest; people walking on sidewalks lined with trees and buildings with roofs covered with plants. Everything is surrounded by ponds, clear streams and dense forest. However, the Indonesian government's plan to build its new capital in eastern Borneo is causing concern among environmental and human rights defenders.
