New Investment Opportunities for Russia in Southeast Asia (Vietnam and Indonesia as Examples)

Annotation: The article aims to analyze investment attractiveness of Southeast Asia countries for Russia. The author discusses main reasons for the increased interest among investors, as well as carefully examines Russia cooperation with Vietnam and Indonesia as key recipients of FDI and Russia partners in the region. Both governments maintain policies that are broadly conductive to FDI. Nevertheless, the author concludes that Vietnam currently has more factors that attract the interest of the investors while the full attractiveness of Indonesia will become visible in a few years in case the policy of the development of special economic zones is successful.
