China and Southeast Asia during the First COVID-19 Pandemic Waves

Annotation: This paper analyses the aid of the People’s Republic of China to the countries of Southeast Asia in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in bilateral and multilateral frameworks. The author provides the outlook of Beijing’s activities in each relationship in 2020–2022. Furthermore, the specific features of China’s aid are distinguished, and the key results of its policy towards SEA during the first pandemic waves are outlined.
