Peculiarities of Energy Transformation in the Asia-Pacific Countries
ЮГО-ВОСТОЧНАЯ АЗИЯ: АКТУАЛЬНЫЕ ПРОБЛЕМЫ РАЗВИТИЯ, 2024, №4(65), 47-62
Annotation: Modern global energy development is undergoing significant changes. In recent decades, renewable and low-carbon energy has received considerable attention. Most countries include plans to develop renewable sources, technologies and infrastructure in their national energy strategies. However, in the context of a diverse global community, adopting universal targets for all countries to switch to solar, wind and hydro sources could have a negative impact on the achievement of sustainable development for a significant number of national economies and at worldwide level. An important part of strategic decision-making in the field of energy is the study of the domestic characteristics of countries related to this area. For this purpose, this paper justifies the grouping of countries based on similar indicators of economic and energy development. The proposed aggregation allows to identify the distinctive features of each group of countries and take them into account when determining strategic guidelines in the energy sector.
