Annotation: At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, colonial Vietnam was undergoing the formation of new, modern social strata, and the growth of national identity. As a result of this process, bourgeois nationalist and communist ideologies spread in the country, and in the 1920s and early 1930s, new forms and methods of national liberation and anti-colonial struggle emerged, national revolutionary parties emerged that aimed to win the independence of Vietnam and expel the colonialists. The Unified Communist Party of Vietnam was established in 1930 with the participation of three communist organizations in North, Central and South Vietnam. A reflection of this process is a historical document – a letter from the Annam Communist Party to the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.
