Trump's War and the Prospects for Mutual Rapprochement between Russia and China

Annotation: The article considers possible options for Chinese foreign policy in the context of worsening relations with the United States. It is indicated that Donald Trump's coming to power in the United States turned out to be a turning point, when the latent crisis and contradictions of the two largest economies came to light and a competition began in raising tariff rates on exports from the United States to China and vice versa. It is also said that the confrontation between the two countries is not limited to economics alone, it also extends to issues related to Taiwan, the situation around the South China Sea and, in general, to military and political rivalry in the struggle for global dominance. The author believes that in such conditions it is Russia that can act as a reliable support for China in the confrontation with the United States, taking into account its military and military-political component. The article points to the enormous reserves of mutual rapprochement both in the framework of strengthening regional cooperation between Chinese provinces and Russian republics and regions, and the formation of large investment projects that could give a new impetus to mutual cooperation.
