Is there a Chance for Continuation of Globalization in the Modern World?

Annotation: The article examines a very topical issue today: will the globalization process continue or will it finally come to naught? It analyzes the change in the strategy of global American responsibility, put forward by President Clinton and associated with the globalization process, to an almost opposite strategy, which provides for the construction of tariff barriers and the introduction of duties on goods entering the United States from abroad. It examines how all these innovations will affect the global balance of power in the world and, especially, the American-Chinese rivalry for global dominance. It shows that all previous attempts by American administrations to achieve serious concessions from China have not been successful. It suggests that the same will happen now, that the interdependence of the two largest economies will force the leaders of both countries to seek at least temporary compromises to maintain the existing status quo.
