The plan to connect two initiatives “Two Corridors and One Economic Circle” and “Belt and Road Initiative” between Vietnam and China

Annotation: In the context of globalization and increasingly deep economic integration of the world's countries, the promotion of international cooperation is becoming an important factor contributing to the growth and development of states. Especially important is cooperation in infrastructure and transportation, which plays a key role not only in developing regional economies but also in building strong trade ties. In recent years, the relationship between Vietnam and China has developed in a wide range of fields: political, economic, cultural, security and defense. The two parties have agreed to build a strategic partnership that is comprehensive and more effective. In 2017, during an official visit to Vietnam by President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, the two leaders signed a memorandum on promoting connectivity between the two initiatives “Two Corridors, One Belt” (TCOB) and “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI), marking a new step forward in bilateral cooperation in trade and infrastructure investment. Cooperation under these initiatives not only provides great opportunities for both countries to connect and develop their economies, but also forms part of the region's sustainable development strategy. The article presents an overview of the BRI and TCOB initiatives and analyzes the achievements and challenges in promoting cooperation between Vietnam and China.
