Vladimir Ivanovich Rebane – The First Vietnamese Language Specialist in the Soviet Union

Annotation: The study of Vietnam in our country began at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s and was associated with the activities of various educational and practical centers, including Narimanov Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies. Former Red Army soldier Vladimir Ivanovich Rebane was studying (1930-1934) and was working on his dissertation (1934-1937) at this institute. He became the first Vietnamese language specialist in our country. From 1941 to 1961, V.I. Rebane worked in the system of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
