ASEAN 2025 Summit Outcomes: A Breakthrough or a Deepening Crisis?

Annotation: This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the outcomes of Malaysia's chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. Based on the proceedings of the 46th and 47th ASEAN Summits, it examines the key achievements of the Malaysian presidency, including the historic expansion of the bloc through the accession of Timor-Leste, the development and adoption of the "ASEAN Community Vision 2045," the advancement of the digital economy agenda and green transformation. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of Malaysia's diplomatic successes in strengthening ASEAN's role as a central element of the regional architecture and balancing between major powers. The article assesses the prospects for implementing the decisions made and the systemic challenges facing the Association.
