Eastern Horizons: Economic Relations between Malaysia and China in an Era of Change
ЮГО-ВОСТОЧНАЯ АЗИЯ: АКТУАЛЬНЫЕ ПРОБЛЕМЫ РАЗВИТИЯ, 2025, №4(69), 159-174
Annotation: This article presents the dynamics of China-Malaysia economic and investment relations from 2009 to 2024. Particular attention is paid to the period of intensified cooperation under Prime Minister Najib Razak, when China became Malaysia's largest trade and investment partner. The authors examine both the achievements of China-Malaysia relations, and the subsequent challenges associated with the change in political leadership in 2018. It is demonstrated how, despite these difficulties and global upheavals (such as the COVID-19 pandemic), bilateral relations showed resilience and adaptability, expanding into new areas such as the digital economy and «green» technologies.
