The Main Directions of Socio-Economic Development of Australia in 2025

Annotation: In a whole, socio-economic development of Australia in 2025 was restrained. The growth rates of Australian GDP reduced in 2023-2024 in comparison with previous level of activity. At the same time, Ministry of finance of Australia predicts the acceleration of GDP growth rates in 2026. Central Bank of Australia predicts that GDP annual growth rates will be 1,6% in 2025 and 2,1% in 2026. Growth rates of inflation in 2025 was lowest from 2021, 2,1% in average. According to forecasts, inflation growth rates will be near to aim level of 2,3% in 2025 and 2026. The whole level of unemployment in Australia was 4,3% in 2025. According to forecasts, in future the level of unemployment will be in practical invariable. The government of Australia considers that the strengthening of the market competition, the rising of productivity and the increasing of investment’s level is essential to the maintaining of the positive socio-economic dynamics to the long-term perspective. Internal and external factors are importance for the further economic development of Australia. Australia is the 14-th biggest economy in the world and is the 16-th biggest exporter. The government of Australia gives great importance to the strengthening of trade and economic cooperation with the entire countries of Indo-Pacific region.
