Some Problems of Managing Artificial Intelligence in Southeast Asia

Annotation: The article examines the national strategies and regional initiatives of ASEAN in the field of AI regulation. The main approaches of Southeast Asian countries to AI regulation are identified, including the policy of limited intervention, the focus on digital economy development, and the consideration of national interests. It is shown that the lack of unified mandatory regulatory norms complicates the formation of a common regional approach to AI management. The article concludes that the key challenge for Southeast Asian countries is to find a balance between promoting innovation, ensuring digital sovereignty, and creating effective mechanisms for regulating artificial intelligence.
