Current State and Development Prospects of Energy Markets in South-east Asia

Annotation: The article analyzes Southeast Asian countries as one of the most promis-ing segments of the global energy market. It identifies the growth drivers of Southeast Asian economies that are driving their accelerated growth rates and energy consumption. The region is implementing a coordinated policy aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and ensuring energy security. Leading expert groups analyze energy development scenarios for Southeast Asian countries. By 2030, the region is expected to transi-tion to a net importer of natural gas, while maintaining its status as a net exporter of coal until 2050. The regional electricity market and the natural gas market. The creation of regional markets for electricity and natural gas is expected by 2050. On the one hand, the level of energy security will increase, on the other hand, conditions will be created for the develop-ment of extra-regional imports of energy resources.
