Annotation: Dr. Dmitry Mosyakov analyses the current problems in China - ASEAN relations. He believes that the main reason of these problems is China's attempts to control the vast territories in the South China Sea. The author examines American attitude to the problem of territorial sovereignty of the Parcel and Spratly Islands. He also touches upon the military build up in the area and forecasts the possible future development of the political and military situation in this region.
