Annotation: The article devoted the new Myanmar's Constitution (2008) and planned general elections (2010) comprises several topical parts. One main is, of course, the consideration and assessment of the Constitution itself with its pros and contras. Another, is a short prehistory of the constitutional process, during the military rule in Myanmar. The article deals also prevailing political situation in the country since reports on the elections appeared in the press in 2007-2009.
