Thailand in 2010-2011.From street protests to parliamentary elections

Annotation: Dr. E.A.Fomicheva in her paper «Thailand in 2010-2011.From street protests to parliamentary elections» studies developments in political situation in the country, singling out the trend which has been realized in Thailand lately when political problems, confrontation of elites and struggle for power are solved by street mass actions. The pressure of non-parliament forces made the government of Aphis it Vetchachiva to hold the elections. As a result of Phua Thai landslide victory this party formed a new government headed by the sister of Thaksin Shinawatra. The author analyses Thai political system and makes an attempt to figure out the main forces and tactics of mass actions in Thailand, which are compared with colored revolutions in other countries.
