Annotation: The paper addresses the problems of multinational cooperation in building of non-traditional security in the vicinity of the Strait of Malacca and its evolution; the specific attitudes of ASEAN member-countries; the influence of interests and sea strategies of Japan, the US, China and India as well as the growing role of the sea factor in the global economy and policy.
