Annotation: In the paper the authors try to give a historic and archaeological description of the lands inhabited by the Austroasiatic peoples (most probably, proto-Viets) pertaining to the Lower Yangzi historic and cultural area, one of the centres of the Old World's early state, in 2 000 B.C.
