The spirit of Bandung and the practice of economic cooperation in South-East Asia

Annotation: Speaking of the “spirit of Bandung”, we always think of the basic principles of bilateral relations and relations between groups of countries. These principles were brought to life in the specific historic period of the early years of post-colonial development in Asia and Africa, and known as ten principle of international relations. It is presumed that the main sphere of this “spirit” is international relations. According to the ideas of their authors, these principles should make it easier for the young national states to fortify their political and economic independence. The Economic Section of the Bandung Declaration states that economic development based on mutual interest and respect for national sovereignty is one of its basic principles.
