Annotation: This article dwells on the main stages of the national liberation struggle in South Vietnam after Geneva peace agreement of 1954 until the complete reunification of the country. The author reveals some important features of this process specially underlining its unbreakable bond with the previous stages of the struggle as well as the very fact that it was waged in a country where the people did not put up with the attempts to perpetuate the split of the country. Thus, he categorically rejects the US official propaganda cliché about the so-called “North Vietnam aggression”. The struggle for South Vietnam liberation and reunification of the country was waged simultaneously on the three fronts - military, political and diplomatic. The US interference brought the problem of national liberation movement in the country far out of the inner conflict and turned Vietnam into the arena of confrontation of the two camps - the West and the East.
