Vietnamese - American rapprochement in 2014 - early 2015: trends, motives and limitations

Annotation: From the time of normalization between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (CRV) and the United States and establishing of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations have developed at a very high space. With Barak Obama’s administration access to power and the policy of pivot to Asia-Pacific the role of Vietnam in its foreign policy have been growing. In the same way, the US is getting more and more important in Hanoi’s foreign policy. This paper observes the main trends of bilateral Vietnam-USA relations today, gives its main content. The author attempts to sort out the key motives of the parties for their special political approaches to one another.
