The possibilities and contingencies of the regional institutions of cooperation in resolving regional security problems in South-East Asia

Annotation: Aggravation of the conflict in the South-China Sea has demonstrated, on the one hand, the risks of internationalization of this problem and the objective constraints for the regional institutions of multilateral cooperation to resolve the problem, on the other. These constraints steam from the character of regional institutions and the system of regional cooperation in East Asia and in Asia-Pacific. At the same time, it seems that the only possible resolution of the regional security problems, including the South-China Sea rests with these institutes.
