Structural Changes in the International Capital Flow and Foreign Direct Investment Flows in South-East Asia, 2000-2012

Annotation: The author analyzed the global and regional (SEA) FDI flows in 2000-2012 and found that there were significant structural changes in the international capital flow, with the role of the developing and transition countries increasing not only as an investment destination but as FDI source too. The paper presents a detailed analysis of FDI inflows and outflows in the South-East Asian countries, FDI sources and main forms of FDI inflows (greenfield FDI projects and cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions – M&As).
