Annotation: Economic development in South-East Asia in the course of globalization and regional integration leads to transformation of social and economic environment. Bilateral and multilateral projects of economic development of ASEAN countries in many instances have sub-regional binding and cross-border character. The most successful of them connected with the zone of the Strait of Malacca are: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. It is here that the making of an international economic region is under way with very complicated structure, including zones of different levels of development and integration.
