Annotation: Dr. Y. Levtonova in her paper “The Philippines: the problem of radical opposition” dwells upon the two radical opposition political movements in the country. President B. Aquino III stated as a priority of the reformist political course the necessity to resolve the problem of radicalism. The author assesses the phenomenon of left guerilla fighting and the role played by the leader of the Philippines left Jose Maria Sison. She considers the course of negotiations between the government and the leaders of major Islamist organization (MKF), which resulted in signing the peace treaty to stop military actions after 40 years of confrontation and to set up the Moslem autonomous region Bangsamoro.
